What Is PEMF Therapy? A Clear Guide for Mississauga Clients

PEMF means pulsed electromagnetic field. A PEMF device uses electrical current to make a magnetic field that changes over time. This is different from a static magnet. A static magnet has a magnetic field that stays on and does not change.

People often search for PEMF therapy because they want to understand the method, the research, and the safety points. This guide gives you a clear starting point before you book a session.

How does PEMF therapy work?

A PEMF device sends timed magnetic pulses through a coil. The strength, pulse pattern, frequency, and treatment time can differ from one device to another.

These differences are important. A result from one device, setting, or health condition does not prove that every PEMF device has the same result. Ask which device the clinic uses and what the session includes.

What does the research say?

Research on electromagnetic field therapy is still developing. The U.S. National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reports mixed evidence. Some research suggests that electromagnetic field therapy can help pain or function for some musculoskeletal conditions. Other research shows no clear benefit for other conditions.

This means that a clinic must not promise that PEMF will cure a condition, repair cells, speed healing, change thyroid function, or produce another guaranteed result. A specific medical-device authorization also does not prove that every PEMF product can treat every condition.

In Canada, Health Canada regulates medical devices. You can read its medical device information and search the Medical Devices Active Licence Listing for current licence information. A listing can help identify a device and its licensed purpose. It does not guarantee a personal result.

What should I ask before a session?

Ask these four questions:

  1. What device will the clinic use?
  2. What will happen during the session?
  3. What result is realistic for my reason for visiting?
  4. Is there a reason that I should not use this device?

Give the clinic accurate information about implanted or wearable medical devices. Also tell the clinic if you are pregnant or have a health condition.

PEMF safety

Magnets can interfere with some medical devices, including pacemakers and insulin pumps. Speak with your health care provider before you use PEMF if you have an implanted or wearable medical device, if you are pregnant, or if you have a health condition.

PEMF is not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment. Do not delay medical care because of information on this page or because of a wellness session. Get urgent medical help for urgent symptoms.

What can I expect at Reverse Aging Wellness Clinic?

The current PEMF & Scalar Therapy appointment is 45 minutes. The article explains the PEMF part of the service. It does not claim that the scalar or sound elements diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a disease.

Before the session, ask the clinic about the device, the session steps, and any safety limits that apply to you. Wear comfortable clothing and follow the clinic's instructions.

Common questions

Is PEMF the same as a static magnet?

No. A PEMF device makes a magnetic field that changes in timed pulses. A static magnet has a field that does not change.

How many sessions do I need?

There is no one schedule that is right for every person, device, or reason for use. Ask the clinic what it recommends and why. A recommendation is not a guarantee of a result.

Can PEMF replace treatment from my health care provider?

No. Use PEMF only as a complementary wellness service unless a qualified health care professional gives you different advice for your specific situation.

How do I book?
